India’s cinematic journey is full of emotion, depth, and diversity — and leading this journey in the world of non-feature films is the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF). The 18th edition wasn’t just a film event — it was a global celebration of documentaries, short films, and animations that move hearts and spark conversations.
With over 314 films from 59 countries, MIFF 2024 became a platform for storytelling that transcends borders, cultures, and languages — a place where every frame carried purpose.
What is MIFF?
Founded in 1990, the Mumbai International Film Festival is South Asia’s oldest and most prestigious festival dedicated to documentary, short fiction, and animation films. Organized by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and managed by Films Division, MIFF has grown into a cultural force that puts real stories — and real people — on the center stage.
In its 18th edition (June 15–21, 2024), MIFF not only welcomed entries from across the globe but also offered:
🎬 National and International competitions
🎥 Thematic screenings — from wildlife to women-led stories
📽️ Masterclasses, open forums, and networking sessions
🌏 Country focus packages from Japan, Belarus, Iran, and more
It was more than cinema — it was a reflection of the times we live in, and the voices that often go unheard.
Graphisads – Powering the Magic Behind the Screen
While the spotlight was on filmmakers, the experience that greeted every visitor — from delegates to cinephiles — was thoughtfully brought to life by Graphisads.
Known for its immersive event designs and execution, Graphisads played a key role in shaping the MIFF experience. Their work extended beyond logistics to storytelling — crafting the look, feel, and energy of the festival with finesse.
Their contribution included:
🎞️ Curating venue branding and aesthetic storytelling
🎙️ Managing seamless screenings, registrations, and setups
📸 Promoting the event across digital and print platforms
🌟 Designing installations that reflected themes of inclusion, social change & artistic expression
In short, Graphisads ensured that MIFF 2024 wasn’t just an event — it was an experience.

Why MIFF Matters More Than Ever
In a digital age overflowing with fast content, MIFF reminds us of the power of deep, thoughtful storytelling. These films do more than entertain — they educate, provoke, and inspire.
- They spotlight social issues — from climate change to justice.
- They nurture new filmmaking voices, especially from underrepresented regions.
- They build empathy and cultural bridges across borders.
- They elevate non-mainstream art to global recognition.
And through it all, they show us that cinema is not just for the big screen — it’s for every voice waiting to be heard.
